INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

At Laraway, we offer a variety of internship opportunities and have successful and well-established relationships with several educational institutions.

Laraway School offers special education, teaching, and psychology internships.

Therapeutic Foster Care and Residential Programs offer afternoon, evening, and weekend social services, psychology, and mental health counseling internships.

Administration Services offer internships for human resources, information technology, finance, social media/marketing, and development, to name a few.

WHAT TYPES OF POSITIONS DOES LARAWAY OFFER?

There are many opportunities for employment and careers at Laraway. To name a few, Behavior Interventionists, Community and Residential Support Staff, Teachers, Case Managers, Clinicians, Behavior Consultants, and Special Educators. CAN I EMAIL MY RESUME TO HR FOR CONSIDERATION IF I AM UNSURE WHICH POSITION, I WOULD BE MOST QUALIFIED FOR?

WHAT TRAINING WILL I RECEIVE IF I AM HIRED?

After hiring a new staff member, the entire first week is spent in orientation and onboarding. You will spend your first week completing in-person and online training, followed by at least 40 hours of job shadowing. You will receive agency and program-specific training during your orientation and onboarding period.

In addition, you will receive regular supervision, support, and training specific to your role. Training includes various required pieces and optional training opportunities. Ongoing support will help you pursue your long-range professional goals.

WILL SUPERVISION BE PROVIDED IF I AM PURSUING MY LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION?

Laraway is committed to helping staff achieve professional goals. At the time of the request, if a staff member with the necessary credentials for supervision towards licensing/certification is available, it would be offered to staff.

HOW MUCH TRAVEL IS REQUIRED? IF SO, IS MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT OFFERED?

It depends on the job! Several positions require a fair amount of travel. For those positions, Laraway does offer mileage reimbursement for miles traveled outside of the typical commute to and from work. Some jobs require very little travel beyond commuting to and from the worksite.

IS WORKING ON-CALL REQUIRED?

There are a few positions that require being on-call. In many instances, added compensation is provided on a rotational basis. Most of our jobs do not require being on-call.

HOW SOON ARE YOU LOOKING TO FILL THE OPEN POSITIONS?

We aim to fill open positions quickly but with the RIGHT candidate. We must hire individuals that are qualified and committed to this work. It’s not easy work, but it is rewarding. Interviews happen constantly; when we find a match, we quickly move the candidate through the screening and hiring process.

WHAT TYPES OF INTERNSHIPS ARE OFFERED AT LARAWAY?

At Laraway, we understand that an internship can be an essential part of a student’s education and that gaining experience offers an excellent opportunity for career exploration. We offer many options that may meet internships in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, and other mental health and academic areas of study.
